Morgan Freeman was born on June 1, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee. He has had an extensive stage acting career, including in Hello Dolly! and Driving Miss Daisy. He first appeared on TV in the children’s program The Electric Company. His film career took off when he played a merciless hoodlum in Street Smart. He starred in the film version of Driving Miss Daisy and the Civil War drama Glory. A few of his many notable roles include a retired gunman in The Unforgiven, an inmate in The Shawshank Redemption, and God in Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty. He was a boxing trainer in Million Dollar Baby. He played Lucius Fox in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. He portrayed Nelson Mandela in Invictus. His current role is in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
