TYLER PERRY Tyler Perry was born Emmitt Perry Jr. in New Orleans on September 14, 1969. His father was abusive to him, leading Tyler to suffer depression as a teenager. He began writing letters to himself as a form of self-therapy, and adapted them into a play, I Know I’ve Been Changed. Its initial production was a flop, but after many re-writes, it was restaged to a sell-out audience. His breakthrough film production was Diary of a Mad Black Woman, followed by Madea’s Family Reunion (and many Madea sequels). He produced/directed/acted in Why Did I Get Married?, Meet the Browns, I Can Do Bad All By Myself and The Single Mom’s Club (among many). His TV series include House of Payne, For Better or Worse and The Haves and the Have Nots. He has also acted in Star Trek, Gone Girl and Vice. His current production is A Madea Family Funeral.
BRIE LARSON Brie Larson was born (as Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers) on October 1, 1989 in Sacramento, California. She began studying drama at age 6, appeared as a regular in the sitcom Raising Dad, and starred in Disney Channel’s Right on Track. Larson had supporting roles in the comedy Hoot, the coming-of-age drama Tanner Hall and the dark comedy Just Peck. She played a sardonic teenager in the TV series United States of Tara, a rock star in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and a high school student in 21 Jump Street. Her breakthrough role was in the drama Short Term 12. She took supporting parts in the romance The Spectacular Now and the comedy Trainwreck. Brie played a kidnapping victim in the drama Room (Best Actress Oscar), and starred as a photojournalist in Kong: Skull Island. Her current role is in Captain Marvel.
